Mr. Brainwash

Thierry Guetta, known as Mr. Brainwash, was born in 1966 in Garges-lès-Gonesse, France. After moving to Los Angeles at age 15, he transitioned from a vintage clothing store owner and videographer to a celebrated street artist, inspired by his cousin Invader and the renowned artist Banksy. His rapid rise to fame was documented in Banksy’s 2010 film Exit Through the Gift Shop. In 2008, his debut exhibition Life Is Beautiful achieved critical and commercial success, with works selling for five-figure sums. Known for blending pop culture imagery with street art, Mr. Brainwash has since collaborated with celebrities like Madonna and exhibited worldwide. His vibrant and optimistic style continues to influence the street art movement and inspire a new generation of artists.
