Georges Braque

Georges Braque born in 1882 in Argenteuil, France, was a key figure in the development of Cubism alongside Pablo Picasso. Initially influenced by Fauvism, his style evolved towards geometric abstraction after encountering Cézanne’s work. Braque co-created Analytical Cubism, known for its fragmented forms and muted colors, seen in pieces like Violin and Palette (1909). He later contributed to Synthetic Cubism, introducing collage elements and textures into his artwork. Braque’s focus on still lifes and interiors left a lasting impact on modern art.
