Jean-Claude Novaro was a French master glassmaker renowned for his vibrant, innovative glass art. Born in Antibes, France in 1943, he began his glassmaking journey at age 14 under the mentorship of Eloi Monod in Biot. By 20, he had become a master glassmaker, eventually establishing his own studio in 1977 . Novaro pioneered techniques such as embedding gold, silver, and bronze into glass and creating phosphorescent pieces that glow in the dark, culminating in his entry into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest hand-blown glass work . His creations are celebrated globally, featured in prestigious museums and collections, and admired for their bold colors and dynamic forms.
