Chroma

Rick Wolfryd, also known as Chroma, is a multidisciplinary American-Mexican artist and writer born in 1953 in Newport Beach, California. Renowned for his vibrant, Huichol-inspired beaded sculptures, he fuses traditional indigenous craftsmanship with contemporary pop culture icons, creating what he terms “Alteration Art” . Wolfryd co-founded the influential Wolfryd-Selway Fine Art gallery in Los Angeles and has been based in Mexico City since 2009, where he continues to explore fine art, photography, poetry, and digital media . His work, deeply rooted in self-exploration and cultural fusion, reflects a commitment to enriching the world through creative expression.
