Icart's art gained international acclaim, with exhibitions in Paris and New York, and his etchings became highly sought after during the 1920s and 1930s. Later in life, he turned to more serious themes, producing works that documented the hardships of World War II. His legacy endures through his over 500 engravings and illustrations solidifying his place as a significant figure in 20th-century French art.
