Banksy

Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based street artist, political activist, and film director whose real name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of speculation. Active since the 1990s, his satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humor with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world. In 2010, Banksy directed the documentary film Exit Through the Gift Shop. Notably, his 2019 artwork Love is in the Bin, created during a live auction by partially shredding his famous Girl with Balloon, became a cultural phenomenon. Originally sold for approximately $1.4 million, the shredded piece later resold for an astonishing $25.4 million, exemplifying the explosive growth in value and demand for his works.
